Something old - Something new

Two cards - Two friendships

The card in the frame with the three women is from my dear friend, Mary Jo.  She gave this card to me in probably 1994. (Old) I have cherished it from the moment she gave it to me until this very day. She was a wonderful, delightful, most generous, and encouraging friend. Oh, and exciting. She was always so exciting, always ready for an adventure. Truth be known, I lived vicariously through her as she had such a free-spirit and I admired her bravery. I loved her with all my heart, and indeed, I still do.      I miss having her still in my life.

The second card is a most cherished Christmas card sent to me this week (New) from my beloved Ai-chan, my friend that I met two and a half years ago. We had such fun romping around our adopted Japanese city, Numazu, as well as making trips on the slow train to Tokyo together. She is also back in the USA, but alas, too far away for impromptu bike rides to Cafe Day or Aoki super market, but we keep close through this amazing world of cyberspace.

Two cherished cards that represent two cherished friendships, one old, one new, one silver, the other gold.

The Girl Scouts have a little friendship song that they teach young girls. The lyrics are:

A circle's round, it has no end,   that’s how long I want to be your friend.

Make new friends, but keep the old,  one is silver and the other gold.

Xmas in Okinawa

December 27, 2014

We woke to find that we were in paradise!

We went to Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium where there are three whale sharks. Amazing!

The next day we hung out at the hotel and kicked back on the beach. A couple got married while we beach combed.

We got back late and had to stay in the capsule hotel in Narita airport parking lot. It was awesome!

Christmas Eve

December 24, 2014

Flying!

Adrianna and I went to Okinawa!!

We took the local bus from the airport to the hotel.

Oh, goodness! Here's the sign above the priority seats.

Let's see. You may sit in the priority seat if you are: with a cane, pregnant, carrying a baby, have crutches, .....  oh my, so many emotions, my heart is so full of feelings, it may burst. Please, please, if your heart is this big and full of feelings, please, sit down.

At the hotel reading material is provided. Take your pick.

It was a long day of travel, but, it was worth it.
